Mary Ann Zmijewski, age 76, formerly of Havenwood Dr. in Toledo, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2022 in Landings of Oregon. She was born on December 13, 1945 in Toledo, Ohio to Joseph and Eleanor (Witaszek) Zmijewski. Mary Ann was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy, earned her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Mary Manse College, and her Master’s in Education from the University of Toledo. She worked as the Director of Staff Development for Mercy Hospital, training and educating nurses until her retirement. Mary Ann loved animals, especially her dogs and many cats. She was an avid reader, who also enjoyed gardening, trimming her roses, and feeding the birds. Mary Ann was a parishioner of St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Catholic Church, where she attended and frequently helped run the Bible Study. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Mary Ann is survived by her sister, Geraldine Mahaney; niece, Heather (Michael) Kammerer; nephew, Roy (Sara Demaria) Mahaney; and great-nephews, Alexander Kammerer, Zachary Kammerer, and Dylan Mahaney. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Joseph John Zmijewski Jr.; and brother-in-law, Grover C. Mahaney.
Visitation will be on Monday, October 10, 2022 from 2-7 p.m. in Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. The Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 11 at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Catholic Church with Rev. David Tscherne presiding. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
