Mary Rita Mansfield

Mary Rita Mansfield, age 75, of Toledo, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 15, 1949 in Bay Village, OH to William and Rita (Wise) Mansfield. For a girl who wasn’t supposed to live past 7 years old she lived a full life and had amazing faith! She was a graduate of Magnificat High School in Rocky River, OH. Mary worked in childcare for families in Bay Village. After the death of our mom, she moved to Toledo to be closer to her sisters. Mary Rita had various jobs through Lott Industries and loved her heat-sealing job at Emmaus. She was a longtime parishioner of Regina Coeli Catholic Church where she enjoyed sharing her beautiful singing voice as a member of the church choir. She looked forward to her numerous “sister trips” and spending time with family. Mary enjoyed wonderful care and the loving housemates at the “Teal House”. Luther Home of Mercy helped Mary to realize one of her dreams of taking a helicopter ride! She flew down the Detroit River and had a bird’s eye view of the city. 

Mary Rita is survived by her siblings, Marilynne (LeRoy) Wood, Patrice Princehorn, Robert (Tish) Mansfield, and Janice (Paul) McNichol; and numerous nieces, nephews, as well as great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother-in-law, Fred Princehorn. She will be missed and her memories will always make us smile. A special thank you to Patrice, Lena and Gale who Mary said were “the bees’ knees”!

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 2 from 4-8 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd., where members of the Regina Coeli Altar Rosary Society will lead a rosary at 6 p.m. Funeral services will begin Thursday, July 3 at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home and continue with the Funeral Mass in Regina Coeli Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Lake View Cemetery, Cleveland, OH.
