Maryann Phyllis Burzynski, age 92, of Point Place, Toledo passed away at home on Saturday, January 30, 2021. Mary Ann was born on May 2, 1928 in Toledo, OH to Paul and Cora (Aumiller) Orlowski. After graduating from Whitney High School, she got a job at the Lamson Bakery and worked there until 1959. Maryann married Robert Burzynski on May 13, 1950 and they celebrated 70 years of marriage in 2020. They had two children, Corrine and Phillip.
Maryann was active as a bowler until she was in her 80s. She was skilled in pottery, knitting, cross stitching and painting by numbers. She painted two large walls in the basement rec room with paint by numbers. A longtime parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, she was active in the church’s Altar Rosary Society and Funeral Luncheon program.
Mary Ann leaves behind her loving husband Bob; son Philip; grandsons, Robert Wonnel and Seth Burzynski; great-grandchildren, Indigo Eve and Isaac Midworth; and son-in-law, Gerard Midworth. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Corrine Burzynski Midworth; sisters, Evelyn Cherry, Bea Orlowski, and Joann Orlowski.; and brothers, Hank, Melvin, Edward, and Clem Orlowski.
Visitation will be Monday, February 1 from 4-7 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd., with a Scripture Service at 6 p.m. Funeral services will begin with prayers at the funeral home Tuesday at 10:15 a.m. and continue with the Funeral Mass in St. John the Baptist Church at 11 a.m. All those attending visitation and services are asked to wear a facial covering and respect social distancing guidelines.
