Michael James Winkle

Michael James Winkle, age 85, of Toledo, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2025 at the Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. He was born on March 4, 1939 in Toledo, OH to James and Margaret (Behan) Winkle. Michael was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and a Veteran of the US Navy. His places of employment included GEM Industries, BFI, and Auto Auction in Perrysburg, OH, “America’s Auto Auction”, where he worked after his retirement to keep busy. Michael married Penny Kossman on December 18, 1992. They enjoyed traveling together over the years, including trips to Las Vegas where he loved visiting the casinos with Penny and her mother and father. He was also a fan of the Detroit Lions and the Michigan Wolverines.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Kathleen, Patricia, and Sharon; and brother, Tim Winkle. He is survived by his wife Penny; four sons; sister, Tina (Jim) Withrow; brother, Denny Winkle (Barb Bienek); brother-in-law, Dennis (Carmen) Kossman; great-nieces, Harper and Hayden Zapadka; and many nieces and nephews.
