Patricia Pietras Obituary

Patricia Ann Pietras, age 90, formerly of W. Benalex Dr. in Toledo, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at her home in Wake Forest, North Carolina surrounded by family.  She was born on September 13, 1933, in Toledo, Ohio to Frank and Stella (Sakowski) Krzyzaniak.  A graduate of Woodward High School, class of 1951, Patricia spent the years before her marriage to David J. working as a secretary for Arthur Young & Co., and as a sales associate for both Tiedtke’s and Hills Department Stores. She is most fondly remembered for being a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker.  Patricia was a parishioner of Regina Coeli Catholic Church since 1961, where she served as a member of the Altar Rosary Society, volunteered with the funeral luncheon program, and offered her talents as a substitute organist.  She was an avid bowler who played with the Regina Coeli League at Jug’s Bowling Alley and also a huge fan of the Detroit Tigers and Pistons, even after moving to North Carolina! Patricia loved music, especially playing the piano, and enjoyed baking “placek” (polish coffee cake).  An extremely warm and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt, she will be dearly missed.

Patricia is survived by her sons, David P. (Kathy) and Thomas (Julie) Pietras; grandchildren, Jennifer (Mark) Mangione, Angela (Andrew) Womble, and Kevin Pietras; great-grandchildren, Ryleigh, Lucas, and Madison Mangione, Kayleigh and Kinsleigh Womble; and niece, Beverly (Daniel) Toy.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, David J. Pietras, dear friend, Roy Ravary (following her husband’s death); and brothers, Daniel (Alice) and Alvin (Albina) Krzyzaniak.

The Funeral Mass will be Friday, May 17 at 11 a.m. in Regina Coeli Catholic Church, preceded by visitation in the church from 10-11 a.m.  Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

The family asks that any memorial contributions be given to Regina Coeli Catholic Church or the Hope House Food Pantry in Wake Forest, NC. (https://www.hopehousewf.org). Condolences can be shared at www.sujkowski.com.
