Patricia Ann Raczkowski, age 79, of Mentor, Ohio, and formerly of Toledo’s Point Place community, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Ahuja Medical Center in Beachwood, Ohio.
Pat was born on September 12, 1946, in Toledo, Ohio, to Walter and Lillian (Zaracki) Rutkowski. She was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy and the Northwest Ohio Practical Nursing Center. Pat devoted much of her professional life to caring for others, working as an LPN on the pediatric floor at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center and at Shoreland Early Childhood Center. She also worked as a pharmacy technician for Rite Aid and Kroger, retiring from Kroger in 2008.
A woman of deep faith and service, Pat was a longtime parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a former president of the grade school PTA. She was also actively involved in the Friendship Park Community Boosters and Seniors Club, the Point Place Heritage Society, and was a life member of the Girl Scouts of the USA.
Above all else, Pat lived for her family. She was happiest when surrounded by those she loved, especially her extended family. Time spent with her siblings, their families, her children, and her beloved grandchildren brought her the greatest joy. All of her nieces and nephews shared a special bond with her, affectionately calling her “Ciocia Patsy,” a name that reflected her warmth and unwavering love.
To her grandchildren, she was “Busia,” a role she embraced with pride and devotion. Being a grandmother was one of the greatest joys of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Pat enjoyed visiting lighthouses and collecting lighthouse figurines. She also took great pride in her Polish heritage, enjoying traditional Polish foods and polka dancing, especially when shared with family and friends.
Pat is survived by her daughter, Alison (Mike) Lee of Chardon, Ohio; her son, David (Betha) Raczkowski of St. Louis, Missouri; and her cherished granddaughters, Katie Lee, Molly Lee, Anna Lee, and Mary Lee. She is also survived by her brothers, Ronald (Debbie) Rutkowski, James (Barbara) Rutkowski, and Allan (Debbie) Rutkowski; her best friend, Carol Sommers, whom she loved like a sister; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Raczkowski; her parents; and her sister, Mary Rutkowski.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 16, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Road. Funeral services will begin Saturday at 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Maple Hill Cemetery in Chardon, Ohio.
