Patricia Zdawczyk Obituary

Patricia Marie Zdawczyk, age 92, of Walbridge, OH passed away Thursday, March 27, 2025 at ProMedica Bay Park Hospital. She was born on June 8, 1932 in Toledo, OH to Stanley and Stella (Glowczewski) Gawronski. Patricia was a graduate of Libbey High School. She worked for Toledo Public Schools, primarily East Side Central, as an office assistant, recess supervisor, and bus aid. She also worked as a cashier supervisor for Joseph’s Supermarkets for 20 years, retiring at age 65. Patricia grew up in Toledo’s Kuschwantz neighborhood and was a longtime parishioner of St. Anthony Catholic Church where she attended grade school. She was also a former parishioner of St. Jerome Catholic Church in Walbridge where she and her husband Jerome were active volunteers. She was a current member of Resurrection Parish of the Polish National Catholic Church. Patricia was proud of her Polish heritage. An excellent cook, she enjoyed preparing Polish dishes and desserts for her family. She also loved dancing the polka with her husband, enjoying margaritas and Mexican food, and playing games, especially Pinochle, Rummy, and Farkle. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.

Patricia is survived by her beloved husband of 72 years, Jerome A. Zdawczyk (married May 30, 1952); daughters, Norma Sliwinski, Vickie (Keith) Pasqualone, and Linda Heinemann; adopted daughter, Cynthia (Michael) Lowell; grandchildren, Keith (Yvonne) Pasqualone, Matthew (Stephanie) Heinemann, Antonio (Angela) Pasqualone; Cassandra (Dayne) Bihn, Mary Sliwinski, and Kathryn (Matthew) Sliwinski-Mundrick; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Irene Grabowski and Alice Gawronski; brothers, Ed, Mel, Gene, and Daniel Gawronski; sons-in-law, Joseph Sliwinski and Robert Heinemann; and great-grandchild, Frances Mundrick.   

Visitation will be Thursday, April 3 from 4-8 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd., with a prayer service at 7 p.m.  The Funeral Mass will be Friday, April 4 at 11 a.m. at Polish National Catholic Church, 1835 W. Temperance Rd., Temperance, MI preceded by visitation at the church from 10-11 a.m. Interment will be in Lake Township Cemetery at a later date.
