Richard Joseph Grzybowski

Richard Joseph “Ebu” Grzybowski, age 92, of Toledo, passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at Majestic Care of Toledo surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 6, 1930 in Toledo, OH to John and Mary (Chmielewski) Grzybowski.  Richard was a graduate of Libbey High School, “Class of’48” and a Veteran of the US Army Air Force. He worked for Libbey Owens Ford, Plant #8 as a glass handler for 30 years, retiring in 1980. Before that, he was employed by the New York Central Railroad as a car inspector. Richard was a member of the CWV Logsdon Walla Post 639, an avid golfer with the Katie Grove Golf League and the Richard Nowak Polish Golf League at Valleywood Golf Course, and a member of the Ohio Theater. He was also an avid Notre Dame and Baltimore Colts fan. He was a former parishioner of St. Anthony Catholic Church and St. Hedwig Catholic Church.

Richard is survived by nephews, Gordon (Linda) Niedbalski; David (Janet) Krzyminski, Thomas (Min) Krzyminski, and Ronald (Christine) Krzyminski; and niece, Diane (Bill) Medsker.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Henry Grzybowski, sisters, Joanne Krzyminski and Genevieve T. Niedbalski; sister-in-law, Joyce Grzybowski; brothers-in-law, Edward Krzyminski and Stanley Niedbalski; and nephew, Paul Grzybowski.

The Funeral Mass for Richard will be Thursday, August 31 at 10 a.m. in Saints Adalbert & Hedwig Catholic Church, 3233 Lagrange St., Toledo. Inurnment will follow in Calvary Cemetery with Military Honors led by the VFW 606 Burial Corps.
