Richard Michael "Rick" Robbins

Richard Michael “Rick” Robbins, age 66, of Temperance, MI, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio’s Toledo facility surrounded by his loving wife, Linda, and daughters, Chandra and Sarah.  He was born on March 3, 1957 in Belleville, Illinois to Richard Lincoln and Nancy (Roach) Robbins.  After graduating from Genoa High School and Penta Career Center, Rick had fun working at Radio Shack.  This job aligned with his favorite hobby, being a Ham Radio Operator, which he began pursuing at age 15.  Rick found it rewarding to communicate with people from all over the world.  He also loved Jeep products and worked the next 37 years as an electrician for Chrysler Jeep Corporation, retiring in 2022.  An avid outdoorsman, Rick was an excellent swimmer who enjoyed camping, canoeing, and star gazing.  He took pleasure in traveling with the love of his life, Linda, to Arizona, Tennessee, Florida, and Mackinaw Island frequently collecting light houses.  At family gatherings, Rick could always be found with his grandchildren or next to his best friend and canine companion, “Buddy”, the eastern shepherd.  A wonderful son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather, our “Red Headed Papa” will be dearly missed.

Rick is survived by his wife, Linda (Frost) Robbins; mother, Nancy Robbins; children, Chandra (Antonio) Sberna, Jeremy (Mandy) Kern, Michael (Jeff Congioloso) Robbins, Joseph (Kelly) Kern, Heather (Thomas) Huehl, and Sarah Robbins; grandchildren, Francesca and Brooklyn Sberna, Kalan and Kason Kern, Faith and Ajay Kern, Drew Hall, Amelia Huehl, and Cecilia Robbins; sisters, Debra Glass and Tammy Werner; and nephew, Casey Werner.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dick Robbins, Irene Eastman, Gert Robbins, David Roach, and Hilda Roach; father, Richard L. Robbins; and nephew, Curtis Werner.

Visitation will be on Saturday, July 8, 2023 from 2 -6 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe.  A Memorial Service will be held at 6 p.m. in the funeral home with Ryan Tarrow presiding.
