Rita Veronica Veres

Rita Veronica Veres, age 92, of Toledo, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2022 at the Franciscan Care Center, Sylvania. She was born September 11, 1929 in Toledo, OH to Francis and Mary (Szender) Jagodzinski. A graduate of Libby High School, Rita worked for Ohio Plate Glass, and at Owens Illinois in Accounts Receivable and Payroll for over 26 years, retiring in 1989. A loving wife, mother, and homemaker, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, making chicken soup, and baking malted milk and banana cakes. She was also an avid reader and jigsaw puzzle enthusiast. She was a longtime member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church, having joined the parish in 1956.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Andrew Veres on October 3, 2012; sister, Dorothy Beach; and brother, Frank Jagodzinski. She is survived by her son, A. Michael (Becky) Veres; daughter, Diane Veres; sister, Nancy Lukas; nieces and nephews; and many special friends.

Visitation will be Friday, September 9 from 10-11 a.m. in Regina Coeli Church, 530 Regina Pkwy. The Funeral Mass will begin at 11 a.m. followed by interment in Toledo Memorial Park.
