Ronald Joseph Lewandowski, of Toledo, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 10, 2021 at Ebeid Hospice, Sylvania surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 13, 1940 in Toledo, OH to George and Rose (Kazmarek) Lewandowski. Ronald was a 1958 graduate of Central Catholic High School and a Veteran of the US Army. After his discharge from the Army, he was hired by the City of Toledo as a firefighter where he worked until 1992. Ronald remained active throughout his life. He enjoyed playing tennis, basketball, golfing, and riding his bike. A great animal lover, he could often be seen walking his beloved dog through the neighborhood. He enjoyed spending his winters at his Condo in Ponce Inlet, FL and summers at his home in Toledo, as well as spending time in the Irish Hills. Ronald was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who proudly followed all his children’s and grandchildren’s extracurricular activities. He loved being with family and friends. He was a former parishioner of St. Hedwig Catholic Church and a current member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jayne (Czarnecki) Lewandowski; and sister, Geraldine Haudan. He is survived by his children, Ross (Sue)Lewandowski, Lesley (Eran) Quinlan, and Randi Lewandowski; and grandchildren, Kayla, Rachel, and Zachary Lewandowski and Lauren, Brock, and Bryce Quinlan.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 16 from 2-8 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. with the Firefighters’ Last Alarm Service at 7 p.m. Funeral services will begin Friday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home and continue with the Funeral Mass in Regina Coeli Church at 10 a.m. Interment with Military Honors led by the VFW 606 Burial Corps will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
