Ronald Joseph Wolniewicz, age 70, of Toledo, passed away at home on Monday, June 8, 2026. He was born on June 15, 1955 in Toledo, OH to Joseph and Ethel “Muriel” (Beatty) Wolniewicz. Ron graduated from Macomber High School in 1973. He also attended the Carl T. Cotter School of Apprentice Training where he honed his skills in construction, following in his father's footsteps! He worked many summers and then full time for Biniker Construction. He also worked many years at “Truckstops of America” and enjoyed both short term and lifetime friendships he made there. A skilled dancer, Ron competed and won many Ballroom competitions in the 70's and 80's all over the United States. Also, he was thrilled with trains from a young age. He created a wonderful display of them and in later years sought out steam engines to ride, study, and observe. A fan of Harley Motorcycles, he was a member of the Motorcycle Riders Association. Other favorites included the Ohio State marching band, Budweiser memorabilia, and NASA. He was a member of the former Salem United Church of Christ.
Ron is survived by his sister, Patricia Kovar; and brothers, James (Barb) and David (Christine) Wolniewicz. Ron was also blessed with nieces and nephews, Chris (Melissa) Barr, Joseph (Brenda) Wolniewicz, Richard (Joan) Kovar III, Chrissy (Tim) Taylor, Maagan Wolniewicz, and Hayley Wolniewicz, whom he enjoyed watching grow and guiding as best he could; and many great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and canine companions, Scrapper, Tyson, Kuhlula, and Swagger.
