Shane Charles Shepler, age 48, of Toledo, passed away at home on Wednesday, March 4, 2026. He was born on March 18, 1977 in Toledo, OH to Charles and Lois (Shaver) Braden. Shane was a graduate of Libbey High School and worked various odd jobs including doing concrete work for Tri State Concrete. He enjoyed drawing and writing and was known for being a jokester. Blest with a big heart, he loved God and family. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.
Shane is survived by his mother, Lois Schmidt; his siblings Shannon, Brad (Nicki), Michelle, Shaun, and Jenna; his children Marques (Christy) Torres, Austin Partin, Monica (Jason) Torres, Alicia (Corey) Bedegarea, Angelo Shepler, Breonnah Amstutz-Shepler, Kane Connors, and Kailyn Connors; and many grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles; and grandparents, Garland and Ruth Shaver.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 15 from 1-5 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. The funeral service will begin Sunday, March 15 at 5 p.m. in the funeral home with Minister Luke Ashby presiding. Those attending the committal service for Shane are invited to meet in the parking lot at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe on Monday, March 16 at 10 a.m. for a procession to Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery where Shane will be laid to rest.
A fundraiser for Shane’s final expenses will be held on Sunday, March 8, from 3-8 p.m. at Latins United, 706 South St. Clair St., Toledo. Donations may also be given directly to Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe.
