Obituary

Shirley Ann Wirick, age 86, of Temperance, MI, passed away Thursday, January 12 at Kingston of Sylvania surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 6, 1936 in Toledo, OH. A graduate of Whitney Vocational High School, she worked in the jewelry department at Montgomery Ward for over 20 years, retiring in the late 80’s. Shirley was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and homemaker. She was a longtime parishioner of Regina Coeli Catholic Church and a dedicated volunteer in the Toledo Hospital Maternity Ward. She was a skilled seamstress who could make anything. A fun-loving woman who lived life to the fullest, she loved attending many church fish fries, fishing on Lake Erie with her husband David on their boat, “April Love”, bowling in the Bedford Mothers’ Club Bowling League, dancing to big band music at Centennial Terrace, and traveling with her friends. Shirley hosted many fish fries for friends and coworkers of Dave’s from DANA. She also enjoyed times spent at the Sylvania Moose Lodge 1579 and being an “honorary member” of the Bedford Retired Bus Drivers.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, David Wirick; brothers, Bobby and Steve Rosinski; sisters, Joan Ray, Rosemary Gabriel, and Stephanie “Taffy” Rosinski; sister-in-law, Joan Erd; and goddaughter and niece, Julie Kujawa. She is survived by her sons, Robert (Nancy) and Thomas (Kathy) Wirick; grandchildren, James (Bridget) Beach, David (Allison) Wirick, Tyler Beach, Katy (Jacob) Wickenheiser, and Joseph (Lauren Sevenbergen) Wirick; and great-grandchildren, Olivia Beach, Liam Wirick, Addison Beach, and one more due in August.
