Sylvia Theresa Malinowski

Sylvia Theresa Malinowski, age 92, of Toledo, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2024 at Genacross Lutheran Services’ Wolf Creek Campus, Holland, OH surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 30, 1932 in Toledo, OH to Matthew and Lottie (Burdasz) Kulczak. Sylvia attended Nativity Catholic Grade School and Edward Drummond Libbey High School. She worked as an assembler at Craftmaster for 7 years, and as an inspector for Doehler Jarvis for 25 years, retiring from there in 1983. She was a former parishioner of St. Anthony Catholic Church and a current longtime member of St. Hyacinth Catholic Church.

Sylvia was extremely proud of her Polish heritage and that she resided in Kuschwanz. Her passions included dancing and traveling with her son’s musical group, “The Duane Malinowski Orchestra”. She had numerous Polka friends across the country. She loved spoiling her grandchildren and preparing holiday dinners. She loved her coffee, cookies, toast, and potato chips. Small in stature, Sylvia had a heart of gold. She will be dearly missed.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Duane Raymond Malinowski; siblings, Eugene, Daniel, and John Kulczak, Mercedes Snyder, and Joanna Tammarine; aunt and uncle, Doris and Ted Karpinski who were like second parents to her; and son-in-law, Gerald Jenkins. She is survived by her children, Diane (Dale Lawecki) Jenkins and Duane Michael (Kelly) Malinowski; grandchildren, Duane Joseph Malinowski, Holly Nicole Malinowski, and Dominic Anthony Malinowski; cousin, Yvonne Jagodzinski; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday, December 30 from 2-7 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd., concluding with a vigil service at 6:30 p.m.  The funeral service will take place Tuesday, December 31 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Patrick Rohen, Captain U.S. Army (Retired) presiding. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
