Viola Cheatwood, age 94, of Toledo and formerly of Chase St., passed away peacefully on Friday, January 12, 2024, at Arbors at Sylvania surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 3, 1930 in Cawood, KY, to McKinley and Laura (Ball) Mitchell Sr. Throughout her life, Viola was employed with Sealtest Dairy, and Toledo Tent, while also being an exceptional homemaker. She enjoyed keeping her home tidy and ready for visits with family and friends. Viola was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God, and The Church on Strayer in Maumee, where she was a Bible School teacher. A devoted grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, she will be dearly missed.
Viola is survived by her grandchildren, Kelly, Kimberly, and Keith (Kristina Shaffer) Mounts; and great-grandchildren, Reese, Sophia, Kessa, Logan, and Luke. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Bertha, Martha “Matt”, Rose, Nannie, and Yvonne Bernhoffer; and brothers, Elmer Mitchell and McKinley Mitchell Jr.
Visitation and services will be private. Interment will be at Toledo Memorial Park. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 419-476-9176.
