Walter R. Borysiak, age 92, of Toledo passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021 at the Gardens of St. Francis in Oregon, OH. He was born January 8, 1929 in Toledo, OH to Matthew and Bertha (Horozewski) Borysiak. Walter attended Woodward High School and was employed as a stationary fireman for the Toledo Public School System for 35 years, retiring from Start High School in 1991. A talented musician, he played drums for several area Polka Bands. He was a member of TAPS and the IMA. Walter was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved spending time with his grandsons and attended all their school and sporting events. He was a lifelong parishioner of Regina Coeli Catholic Church.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara (Jarocki) Borysiak in 2003; sister, Virginia Pojedynski; and brother, Richard C. Borysiak. He is survived by his daughter, Marcia Kroll; and grandsons, Matthew Kroll and Andrew Kroll. Visitation will be Thursday, December 9 from 3-8 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd., with praying of the rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral services will begin Friday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home and continue with the Funeral Mass in Regina Coeli Church at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
